Paul Thomas, agency founder, sold his first insurance policy while sitting at the kitchen table in his parents’ home in Bruceton Mills, WV. That policy represented the beginning of Thomas Brothers Insurance Agency, which Paul owned together with his brother, Lowell.

Our Agency opened an office on the Mileground in Morgantown. This office was called the Morgantown Insurance Center and was created through the purchase of smaller agencies whose owners were retiring.

Kingwood became the next location in 1988. In that year, the Kingwood Insurance Center was created through the purchase of the Hooten Insurance Agency.

Paul Thomas and Lowell Thomas decided to continue the Insurance Centers, Inc. story into the next generation through family perpetuation n December 1998, Paul and Lowell Thomas sold the agency to Brian Thomas. Brian is Paul´s son and a nephew of Lowell. Brian´s intention was to continue the Insurance Centers, Inc. as an independent agency for a long time to come.

Insurance Centers purchased the Culleton Agency in Morgantown.

Insurance Centers had outgrown its Mileground location in Morgantown and relocated the office to the second floor of the Clear Mountain Bank building located in Pierpont Centre(originally known as Glenmark Centre).

Brian Thomas passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Tony Deal was named new CEO and president to continue Brian’s vision of growth, customer service, and commitment to the community we serve.

Insurance Centers expands into Fayette County, PA merging with Brown Smiley Nedley Insurance and S&S Insurance in Fairchance.

Insurance Centers acquires Mountain State Insurance Center in Terra Alta, WV, adding a third Preston County location. We also announce the opening of our new agency location in the Westover, WV area, where we strive to provide personalized insurance solutions to meet your unique needs.

Insurance Centers enjoys 6 locations, employs 30 individuals, and is licensed in 9 states, WV, PA, MD, OH, NC, FL, VA, TX, and AZ. We represent over 60 different insurance carriers and service over 11,000 clients.
