One of the most look forward to seasons in West Virginia is hunting season. Often people hunt in remote areas and use ATVs to get to their favorite hunting spots. While hunting is one of the safest activities you can do , West Virginia does have some of the highest rates for ATV accidents. Here are a few tips to keep you safe while you are hunting with your ATV.
Always wear a helmet
Never ride on paved roads except to cross when done safely and permitted by law
Never ride or hunt under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Ride on designated trails at a safe speed
Always secure your gun or bow and make sure your gun is unloaded before ridding
You should not have multiple riders on a single ATV
Make sure children are on the allowed size ATV requirements
Make sure your ATV is insured correctly by contacting your insurance agent.
